Groundhog Handprint Craft For Kids [Free Template] (2024)

Jump to How-To

Soon the groundhogs will be coming out of hibernation and ready to look around to see if spring is on the way.

On Groundhog Day we all wait to see if Punxsutawney Phil will see his shadow and hide away for six more weeks of winter weather or predict an early spring if he doesn’t see it.

Have the kids make their predictions if the groundhog will see his shadow while they make this groundhog handprint craft! The grass around the groundhog burrow is made from your little one’s handprints and the furry little creature peeks out behind it.

They’ll practice their fine motor skills and scissor skills as they trace their handprints and cut them out. They’ll also have the chance to practice following instructions as they glue their groundhog together.

Groundhog Day is a unique holiday to have a little fun with, so be sure to grab the free template and some basic crafting supplies to make some fun holiday memories with the kids.
