Denver Broncos 28, San Diego Chargers 20

Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos sent a big "get well soon" message to coach John Fox. What could possibly make Fox feel better than a 28-20 win against the San Diego Chargers? Manning threw for 330 yards and four touchdowns, three to Demaryius Thomas, as he efficiently led the Broncos through their first game since Fox had heart surgery. Fox had had his aortic valve replaced last Monday in Charlotte, N.C., and was released Friday to his offseason home there, where he'll continue his recovery and begin rehab soon.

Arizona Cardinals 27, Houston Texans 24

On the very first play of the game, the Arizona Cardinals forced a fumble and returned it for a touchdown. It was a sign of what would come in the second half. The Cardinals turned up the defensive pressure and sent the Houston Texans to their franchise-record seventh straight loss, 27-24 Sunday. Carson Palmer threw two touchdown passes and Arizona held on despite a late fumble. The Texans (2-7) were without coach Gary Kubiak, who collapsed on the sidelines against Indianapolis last Sunday night with what was diagnosed as a mini-stroke. Defensive coordinator Wade Phillips is filling in as interim coach.

Carolina Panthers 10, San Francisco 49ers 9

Drayton Florence's interception in the final minute sealed a victory for Carolina, snapping the 49ers' five-game winning streak and giving the Panthers their fifth straight win. Graham Gano kicked a 53-yard field goal with 10:05 remaining that held up as the Panthers twice shut down Colin Kaepernick on last-ditch drives with swarming defense. Detroit Lions 21, Chicago Bears 19

Calvin Johnson stepped up when Detroit needed him the most. "Megatron" had two second-half touchdown receptions, Reggie Bush rushed for 105 yards and the Lions beat Jay Cutler and the Bears.Johnson broke Herman Moore's franchise record with his 63rd career touchdown reception. Philadelphia Eagles 27, Green Bay Packers 13

Nick Foles threw three long touchdown passes and the Eagles pulled away from the injury-ravaged Packers, who lost backup quarterback Seneca Wallace to a groin injury. A week after throwing for seven TDs, Foles was at it again. He found DeSean Jackson for a 55-yard score, and connected with Riley Cooper for second-half touchdowns from 45 and 32 yards.

Jacksonville Jaguars 29, Tennessee Titans 27

Maurice Jones-Drew and Jordan Todman each ran for a touchdown, and the Jaguars got their first win this season. The Jaguars (1-8) scored the most points in a game this season for first-year coach Gus Bradley.They never trailed and forced four turnovers they turned into 17 points.

The Ravens did everything wrong in their bid to end a three-game losing streak and remain relevant in the playoff chase. They committed three turnovers, blew a 17-point lead and gave up a long touchdown pass on the final play of regulation . And still, the defending Super Bowl champions prevailed, as Justin Tucker kicked a 46-yard field goal with 5:27 left in overtime.

St. Louis Rams 38, Indianapolis Colts 8

Tavon Austin ran free Sunday, and the Colts couldn't catch him. The rookie returned one punt 98 yards for a touchdown, caught TD passes of 57 and 81 yards and almost single-handedly ended the Rams' three-game losing streak. The Saints (7-2) had an NFL-record 40 first downs and a franchise-record 625 total yards in what marked their 12th straight prime-time victory in the Superdome.
