ANOTHER GAME-WINNING FIELD GOAL

First it was the Texans. Then it was the Browns. Then the Lions and the Cardinals.

So, it was fitting that the late window ended with yet another game-winning field goal. Jason Myers did the honors, sending a 43-yarder through the uprights to lift the Seahawks past the Commanders and to 6-3 on the season.

It marked the fifth game-winning field goal as time expired, which is the most in a single week in NFL history(per the CBS Sports research department). What a Sunday!

Seahawks, Commanders trade TDs in final minutes

Credit to Geno Smith and the Seahawks for delivering the ultimate response after giving up the game-tying touchdown with eight minutes to play. Having scored just one touchdown up to that point, Seattle marched down the field in 10 plays and retook the lead when Geno Smith threaded the needle to Tyler Lockett for the six-yard score.

However, Sam Howell still had four minutes to deliver his own signature drive, and the second-year QB was up to the challenge. Facing third-and-10 from the Seahawks 35-yard line, Howell stayed patient until his ex-North Carolina teammate, Dyami Brown, came open in the middle of the field. Brown corralled the jumping catch surrounded by Seattle defenders, yet no one could even touch him as he hit another gear for the 35-yard touchdown.

Kyler leads thrilling comeback in 2023 debut

You think the Cardinals missed Kyler Murray? Needing a field goal with 2:33 to play, Murray led a 10-play, 70-yard drive to set up Matt Prater for the game-winner over the Falcons. One of the biggest plays came on third-and-10, when Murray did his patented scramble about 20 yards behind the line of scrimmage and then outran everyone to the other side of the field to convert the first down.

Two plays later, Murray stood tall in the pocket and launched a pass deep downfield. It was underthrown, which actually worked in the Cardinals favor because the Falcons defender couldn't get his head around in time. Trey McBride came back to the ball to make the catch for a gain of 33 yards.

From there, all the Cardinals had to do was run down the clock to ensure the field goal attempt would serve as the game's final play. Out came Prater to finish out the comeback, giving Arizona just its second win of the season.

LIONS WIN

In a game like Lions-Chargers, the team with the ball last usually comes out on top. Following touchdowns on five straight possessions, the Lions only needed a field goal to leave Los Angeles with a win. And after converting a fourth-and-2 from the Chargers' 26-yard line, Detroit could drain the rest of the clock and set up the game-winning field goal. Riley Patterson served as the hero, as his 41-yarder improved Dan Campbell's team to 7-2 this season. Brutal loss for the Chargers, who drop to 4-5.

Ridder gives Falcons the lead

With the Falcons down five, Desmond Ridder did it himself to give his team the lead with about 2:30 to play.

Neither defense can stop the other in this thrilling high-scoring affair! Need proof? Justin Herbert (323 yds, 4 TDs) just hit Keenan Allen (11 rec, 175 yds, 2 TDs) for a 38-yard score to tie the game at 38 between the Chargers and Lions.

Lions back up

I can't keep up with the scoring in Lions-Chargers. Even Brock Wright got into the scoring action with his first touchdown of the season to put Detroit back ahead with 7:30 to play.

Ridder in at QB with Heinicke injured

If the Falcons are going to come back and beat the Cardinals, they'll have to do so with Desmond Ridder. Taylor Heinicke left with a hamstring injury after a scramble early in the fourth quarter. He was initially ruled as questionable but was downgraded to out.

Cowboys 'O' unstoppable at home

After Dak Prescott's touchdown pass to Michael Gallup, the Cowboys have now scored at least 30 points in all four of their home games this season.

Giants get on the board

They're not beating the Cowboys, but at least they found the end zone. Ten-yard touchdown pass from Tommy DeVito to Lawrence Cager.

Kenneth Walker III is GONE

The field-goal fest finally has a touchdown thanks to Kenneth Walker III. Geno Smith found the explosive RB leaking out of the backfield and he did the rest. He outran the first defender. He ran through the second. And then he turned on the jets and no one could catch him. Seattle has the lead after the64-yard score.

Chargers, Lions trading blows

We've got a fun one in L.A. The Lions looked like they'd run away from the home team, but Justin Herbert and Keenan Allen have kept the Chargers in the game. Oh, and so has Jalen Guyton, who scored his first touchdown since 2021 in the third quarter.

Los Angeles tied the game on that score, but it wasn't long before Detroit regained the advantage. Seven plays, 75 yards later, Amon-Ra St. Brown caught a screen pass and was off to the races, 20 yards for the score.

But wait, the Chargers struck right back! 16 plays, 75 yards and Quentin Johnston's first-career score tied things up at 31.

Dak destroying Giants

Dak Prescott is 18-for-24 passing for 239 yards and three total touchdowns ... in the first half. He just rushed one in to give Dallas a 28-0 advantage at the break, and he's even completing passes off ONE FOOT. The Cowboys continue to destroy opponents at AT&T Stadium this season.

Welcome back, Kyler

It's great to see Kyler Murray back on the field after 11 months post-torn ACL. He's been solid, too, leading the Cardinals into Falcons territory on four of five possessions to start the game. While the first two of those ended in field goals, Murray found the end zone for the first time in 2023 with a six-yard zone-read keeper in the final seconds of the second quarter. He then led a field goal drive to open the second half, which gave Arizona the lead.

Dallas turns it on

With a chance to tie the game after an interception, the Giants turned the ball over on downs. That effectively ended the game. In the Cowboys' two possessions since, they've combined to gained 150 yards on just 14 plays and score two touchdowns to go ahead 21-0. Tight end Jake Ferguson caught the first score, and Brandin Cooks followed that up with a score of his own. Dallas is making it look easy right now against the lowly Giants.

Lions running all over Chargers

Make that 19 attempts, 177 yards and three touchdowns on the ground for the Lions in the first half. It had been all rookie Jahmyr Gibbs, but veteran David Montgomery made sure to get in on the action by ripping off a 75-yard score. The Chargers have no answer for this rushing attack.

Giants 'D' makes another play, ends up with 0 points

If New York is going to pull the biggest upset of the season, it'll need more plays like Cor'Dale Flott made to finish the first quarter. His intercepted Dak Prescott and returned the ball to the Cowboys 12-yard line ... and yet the Giants managed zero points after turning the ball over on downs.

Justin Herbert dart

The Chargers aren't just going to lie down down 14 points. Justin Herbert just delivered a dart to Keenan Allen to pull L.A. within one possession.

Jahmyr Gibbs has arrived

It took half the season, but Jahmyr Gibbs has been fully unleashed. It began two weeks ago on "Monday Night Football," when the first-round rookie racked up 189 scrimmage yards and a touchdown on 31 touches against the Raiders. After the Lions' bye week, Gibbs has been busy once again Sunday. He's already touched the ball 11 times for 96 yards and two scores as Detroit has jumped on Los Angeles in the first half.

CeeDee TD

CeeDee Lamb's got his first rushing TD since his rookie season in 2020. Lamb took the reverse pitch from Dak Prescott and found a seam around right end, running untouched into the end zone for the 14-yard score.

Goal line stands!

The Giants and Chargers both got much-needed stops as they attempt to pull upsets. New York kept Dallas out of the end zone, while Los Angeles prevented Detroit from taking a two-touchdown lead.

Escaping for the TD

Sam Howell has quietly been one of the most productive QBs in the NFL this season. He got off to a great start Sunday by escaping a pass-rusher and then hitting Brian Robinson Jr. streaking down the sideline. There was no one there to stop him as he galloped into the end zone from 51 yards out.

BROWNS WIN

The Browns went down, 14-0, less than five minutes into the game. They were down, 24-9, early in the third quarter. But Cleveland kept fighting, and despite the defense giving up more than 30 points, it came up huge down the stretch. The biggest play came from Ogbonnia Okoronkwo in the fourth quarter; he battled Lamar Jackson's pass into the air, and Greg Newsome II secured the pick-six to pull within one with about eight minutes to play. The defense then forced a Baltimore punt, and the Cleveland offense responded by getting into field goal range. That meant the game came down to kicker Dustin Hopkins, who after missing the game-tying extra point earlier in the quarter put the ball through the uprights to give the Browns a dramatic triumph.

VIKINGS WIN

Let's not talk about how the Vikings almost gave up a 24-3 lead ... and instead talk about how Josh Dobbs has led them to two straight wins. In the end, it was the Minnesota defense that came up big, with Mekhi Blackmon and Byron Murphy corralling interceptions in the final minutes to secure the victory.

TEXANS WIN

Just give DeMeco Ryans Coach of the Year and C.J. Stroud Offensive Rookie of the Year -- because what they've done this season is remarkable. Following a three-win campaign, the Texans have won five of their past six games to move above .500 on the season. On Sunday, it was Stroud overcoming an awful interception to lead Houston into field goal range in the final seconds, leading to a Matt Ammendola game-winning kick as time expired. Texans cool off the red-hot Bengals, 30-27.

Last-second INT

Green Bay had one last chance to win the game, but Damontae Kazee slammed the door shut with his goal line interception. Steelers move to 6-3.

CMC streak snapped

The 49ers did all they could -- including targeting or giving him the ball four straight times at the goal line -- but Christian McCaffrey's touchdown streak is over. He finishes with touchdowns in 17 consecutive games (including playoffs), which is tied for the most all-time with Lenny Moore.

Bengals have life

Despite back-to-back interceptions in Texans territory, Joe Burrow and the Bengals have life. That's because C.J. Stroud, in an otherwise flawless performance, gifted Cincinnati an interception that led to a Joe Mixon touchdown to cut the lead to 27-24.

Steelers 'D' comes up big

The Steelers defense hasn't put forth its best effort, but in need of a big play, the unit delivered. Veteran Patrick Peterson kept the ball in play with a tip, and Keanu Neal corralled the ball for the end-zone interception, keeping the Steelers ahead.

A.T. PERRY

Who? He's a sixth-round rookie out of Wake Forrest, and his touchdown catch rivaled that of Chris Olave's earlier in the half. After going down 24-3, the Saints officially have life.
